The Long Pause
Five nights · £1,680 per person · the working professional's week
The programme designed for a guest who can take one clean week away from work. Short enough that it doesn't disrupt the rest of life; long enough for full Ayurvedic intake, a proper diagnostic baseline, daily Ayurvedic bodywork, and a thirty-day post-stay protocol that carries the work forward.
Five nights, complete.
- Full Ayurvedic intake and personal prescription — sixty-minute consultation with Dr Prasanna, including dosha typing, medical history review, and a written personal prescription for the stay and beyond.
- Four signature Ayurvedic treatments across the stay — drawn from the Ayush menu, typically including abhyanga (full-body oil massage), shirodhara (continuous oil pour to the forehead), udvartana (herbal powder massage), and one additional therapy chosen by Dr Prasanna based on the arrival consultation.
- An introduction to panchakarma principles — daily warm oil self-application (snehana) and herbal steam (swedana), the preparatory phase of the classical protocol. A gentle opening onto the deeper work available in the Long Week and Long View.
- Arrival diagnostic panel — DEXA scan, VO2 max (portable metabolic cart), grip strength, balance, HRV baseline, cognitive screen.
- Medilab Tier 2 blood panel — the Longevity Baseline — a meaningfully deeper panel than the Long Weekend's, drawn on arrival. Includes advanced lipids (ApoA, ApoB, Lp(a)), fasting insulin with HOMA-IR, an extended thyroid read, full nutrient work-up, and sex-specific hormone panels — markers an informed guest expects to see and that an NHS GP typically does not run. Bundled with a thirty-minute Medilab clinician consultation covering results, written protocol, and onward recommendations.
- Eight Sleep Pod 5 cover — dual-zone temperature control and contact-free nightly tracking from the first night. Protocol designed around your arrival sleep data.
- Sauna, steam, hot and cold plunge pools — part of the evening wind-down ritual in the Ayush Spa wing, paired with the sleep protocol.
- Daily contemplative practice — guided pranayama, breathwork, and mindfulness woven across the five nights, drawn from the Ayurvedic tradition and paired with the cold-exposure and sleep work. Five nights is long enough for the HRV baseline taken on arrival to begin shifting by departure; the sleep report at the end captures the change alongside the dietary and treatment effects.
- Two health coaching sessions across the stay — one on arrival to shape the week, one mid-stay to adjust.
- One Long Walk — a guided walk on the Jersey coast, with a member of the team. Most guests take more than one.
- Take-home sleep and lifestyle report at departure, with the sleep section auto-generated from the five nights of Eight Sleep data via our Terra-based sleep reporting software, and the lifestyle section drafted by the Health Coach from the week's coaching sessions.
- Thirty-day post-stay protocol with one video check-in at the two-week mark.
- Full-board at Kitchari, with the longevity menu available every service.
Where each part of the £1,680 actually goes.
The Long Pause is sold as a single bundled fee — £1,680, all-in. Inside that fee, the money flows in three directions. £834 flows through to Ayush as the existing spa retail value of the included treatments. £185 flows through to Medilab as the indicative pass-through cost of the Tier 2 Longevity Baseline blood panel and clinician consultation. The remaining £661 stays with the hotel and funds the new programme delivery — the additional clinical time, the on-site diagnostic panel, the DEXA, Eight Sleep tracking, two health coaching sessions, the take-home protocol, and the post-stay follow-up. After costing those new items at £388, the hotel keeps £273 per booking — a 41% margin on the new-investment portion of the fee. The Pause is a genuine contributor rather than a ladder step waiting to convert.
The bundled fee is shown in three blocks. The first two are pass-throughs to third parties — Ayush spa treatments at current retail (May 2025 brochure) and Medilab Tier 2 bloodwork at April 2026 indicative pricing — neither of which carries hotel margin. What's left is the new-programme-delivery portion that funds the new clinical time, diagnostic infrastructure, sleep tracking, coaching, and post-stay follow-up. The 41% margin on that residual is what the board's investment case rests on. Full per-tier panel detail is on the Medilab partnership page; the four-programme comparison and full methodology is on the Longevity page.
How a Long Pause would run.
Five nights, arriving on a Sunday evening and leaving on a Friday afternoon. Designed so that a guest can take one clean week away from work without it disrupting the rest of life. The shape settles into a rhythm by the second day: treatment in the morning, clinical or coaching touchpoint before lunch, movement and rest in the afternoon, early supper, full sleep protocol overnight.
